BIRD Incubation Program

Last week, BDV had a wonderful opportunity to contribute as a mentor and support startups in BIRD Incubator through their Incubation Program by fostering legal workshops.

BIRD Incubator welcomed BDV as a partner in 2024. BIRD is an AI-focused startup incubator dedicated to nurturing early-stage AI startups and fostering Croatia’s startup ecosystem. The Incubation Program spans six months and is designed for early-stage startups, offering a dynamic, in-person experience.

Throughout the program, startups participate in a range of extracurricular activities aimed at enriching their entrepreneurial journey. The first stage of the Incubation Program consists of 12 weeks, with each week focusing on a specific topic to ensure all startups attain the same level of knowledge and understanding before advancing to the next stage. These weeks are packed with workshops led by mentors and external experts who bring valuable insights to the table.

We are excited about the opportunities ahead and look forward to continuing our collaboration with BIRD Incubator in the future, fostering innovation and empowering startups to thrive.

BDV advised Kommunalkredit Austria AG on the EUR 25 million secured facility for Star Energy Group plc

2023 CEE Deals of the Year Awards — Country Selection Committee Participation

Pavičić recently published a paper in the leading Croatian law journal „Pravo i porezi “. The paper discusses the concept and legal nature of the share transfer agreement (STA) under relevant Croatian law and court practice. In that regard, the paper sets out the essential assumptions for an STA’s validity and offers practical suggestions regarding certain standard STA provisions. BDV at the Business Forum of CEEC & China

Croatia is the host country of the 8th Summit of Heads of Government of CEEC and China and the 9th Business Forum of CEEC & China. Apart from the multilateral political meetings that are organized by the Croatian Government, during the Croatia Summit, a business forum and individual meetings for entrepreneurs from China and all 16 Central and Eastern European countries (CEEC), is organized by the Croatian Chamber of Economy and the Croatian Ministry of Economy, Entrepreneurship and Crafts. This is the 9th Business Forum of CEEC & China, as the first business forum was held one year earlier (2011 Hungary) than the Summit meetings began.

About 16+1 Cooperation

The 16+1 Cooperation was established in 2012 to promote business and investment relations between China and 16 countries of Central and Eastern Europe (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia and Slovenia). The cooperation facilitates opportunities for both China and European countries and their entrepreneurs in various fields of industries, trade and investment, infrastructure, transportation and logistics, energy, culture, education, tourism and many more. The summits are held yearly and so far, they were organized in Warsaw (2012), Bucharest (2013), Belgrade (2014), Suzhou (2015), Riga (2016), Budapest (2017) and Sofia (2018).
